AI Human Readiness Snapshot

Surface what you can't see. Ground your next decision in evidence.

You know some of your people are using AI. You may not know how they are using it, what concerns them or what support they need. The Snapshot gives you a clearer picture of what respondents report, so you can investigate concerns and plan your next steps.

"It was wonderful to partner with Sue and the Uncertainty Lab to baseline our AI adoption, governance and implementation approach. The Readiness Assessment was a quick and easy way to engage with our staff that provided profound insights into how our people are feeling about AI, the critical risks facing our business and what we need to do to strengthen our approach."
Catherine Harding · COO, Australia for UNHCR

What it surfaces

  • How your people are feeling about AI - where curiosity, caution, anxiety and overwhelm sit, and what that means for how you bring people into the conversation
  • Reported AI use, including activity leadership may not know about - who's using it, how often, for what, and through which tools
  • Where capability, motivation and readiness sit - what people want, what they're already doing, and the support they'd actually use

How it works

A short, anonymous survey - around 8 to 10 minutes - for a representative group of staff across roles and teams. We explain the privacy and reporting arrangements before people respond, and report themes and patterns with care for small groups.

What you receive

  • A written Snapshot Report: the headline findings, what people are feeling and doing, the most significant patterns, and practical considerations for leadership
  • A facilitated leadership debrief to walk through the findings, explore what they mean in your context and decide what makes sense next

What it helps you do

  • Identify reported use and concerns that need closer leadership attention
  • Plan learning and capability around what people actually need
  • Ground executive and board conversations in real data, not anecdote
  • Decide on a response that's proportionate to your context

Questions

How do we find out how our people are using AI?

Ask them directly, with a clear explanation of how their responses will be handled. The anonymous survey asks about AI use, tools, experiences and concerns. It can surface activity and support needs you aren't hearing about in meetings. The findings reflect what people report; they don't identify individual users or verify every use of AI.

How does this help us support our people?

It shows patterns in people's experience - what they're trying, where they see value, what concerns them and what support they would use. That helps you focus your guidance, capability building and change approach on the people in your organisation.

Will people answer honestly?

Anonymity gives people a way to raise experiences and concerns they may not share in meetings. We explain how responses will be handled and report themes and patterns, with care for small groups where a comment might identify its author. We cannot guarantee what everyone will choose to share.

How much staff time does it take?

About 8 to 10 minutes per person, for a representative group across roles and teams.

What happens after the Snapshot?

You receive a written report and a leadership debrief to work through the findings and priorities. You can use them to shape guidance, capability building or your change approach. Further work with me is optional; the Snapshot can stand alone.

What do you need to know about your people and AI?

Let’s work out which questions need answering, whose experience you need to hear and how the findings could inform your next decisions.
